O Guadiana Valley Natural Park it is one of the most emblematic natural landscapes of the Algarve, stretching along the Guadiana River, next to the border with Spain, and encompassing a vast area of high ecological and landscape value. Located in the interior of the Sotavento Algarvio, it is distinguished by its authenticity and the preservation of largely unaltered Mediterranean ecosystems, where nature and a rural rhythm remain practically intact.

Classified as a protected area at the end of the 20th century, the park is characterised by a diverse geography, marked by rolling hills, deep valleys and extensive areas of scrub and woodland, where native species such as cork oak and holm oak predominate. Biodiversity is one of its main attributes, being a habitat for various species of birds, mammals and plants, some rare or endangered, which reinforces its environmental and scientific importance.
